Install Nextcloud to sync your documents on PC and Mac with Archibou
With the Nextcloud desktop client, your Archibou files are automatically synced to your computer. No need to use a browser — your files are always available, even offline.
Download
- Go to https://nextcloud.com/install/#install-clients
- Choose your operating system:
- Windows: download the .exe installer
- Mac: download the .pkg or Homebrew version
- Linux: download the AppImage or package for your distribution
Installation
Windows
- Run the downloaded installer
- Follow the instructions (default installation recommended)
- The client launches automatically after installation
Mac
- Open the downloaded .pkg file
- Drag Nextcloud to the Applications folder
- Launch Nextcloud from the Applications folder
Linux (Ubuntu/Debian)
sudo apt update
sudo apt install nextcloud-desktop
Initial setup
- On first launch, enter your server address: https://archibou.cloud
- Click Next
- Log in with your Archibou username and password
- Click Grant access to authorize the client
- Choose the local sync folder (default:
~/Nextcloud) - Select the folders to sync (or sync everything)
- Click Connect
Usage
Automatic sync
- Files added to the local
Nextcloudfolder are automatically uploaded to the server - Files modified on the server (via the web interface or mobile app) are automatically downloaded
- An icon in the taskbar (Windows) or menu bar (Mac) shows the sync status
Conflict resolution
If a file is modified simultaneously on the local machine and the server, Nextcloud creates a conflict copy.
