How does automatic backup work?
Install Archibou Photos on your Android, connect your account and pick your albums: new photos then upload on their own in the background, even with the app closed, in original quality to your storage hosted in France. On conflict, the file is renamed, never overwritten.
Do I need to keep the app open?
No: periodic sync runs in the background, even with the app closed. You can also trigger a manual sync at any time, and each photo shows its status: synced, pending, in progress or failed.
What happens if I run out of space?
Your quota is shown in the app, with an alert if you exceed it. Your local photos always stay on your phone: only the upload to the cloud pauses.
Are my photos compressed?
Never: Archibou backs up your photos in original quality, with no compression or re-encoding. The opposite of the free model funded by exploiting your data.
What about iPhone?
The iPhone app is in the works and will come after the Android version, currently in closed beta. Join the waitlist to be notified.
